L's Coffee & Bookshop
About This Spot
Stepping into L's Coffee & Bookshop is like finding a gentle pause in the heart of Conwy's bustling High Street. This inviting corner blends the quiet charm of a neighborhood favorite with the steady hum of a well-loved gathering place. The warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the soft rustle of turning pages create an atmosphere that feels both familiar and quietly inspiring, encouraging you to linger a little longer over your morning cup or an afternoon treat.
The pace here is unhurried, but lively enough to feel comforting rather than lonely—a perfect setting for meeting a friend, catching up on a book, or simply watching the town drift by through the large front windows. There’s a thoughtful rhythm to how the space nurtures connection, whether between strangers exchanging smiles over a shared table or families settling in for a hearty breakfast.
Food and drink at L's carry a sincere sense of care and simplicity, welcoming all tastes without fuss. Mornings are often brightened by the rich warmth of a cappuccino or mocha alongside a lovingly prepared breakfast bap or a delicate cinnamon bun, their flavors unfolding gently, never rushed. Later in the day, the menu offers plenty to explore—a comforting classic like an English breakfast, or lighter fare like a halloumi salad bowl that balances freshness with satisfying textures. There’s a playful note too, from sweet indulgences like Caramac rocky road to savory surprises such as pulled pork loaded fries, all served with an amiable attentiveness that feels personal rather than transactional.
What stands out most is how the staff shape the experience. Attentive and welcoming without being intrusive, their presence adds a layer of warmth that makes visitors returning, day after day, feel like part of a community. It’s clear this isn’t just another stop on the High Street, but rather a carefully cultivated space where details — from the artful presentation of dishes to the hum of friendly chatter — come together to create something quietly memorable.

In conwy for 2days & visited both days. Afternoon visit for cake & pistachio latte. Again for breakfast the next day, we arrived just after opening on the Sunday & were the first customers & had a nice table in the window. We had the special breakfast (warm cinnamon bun, granola, yogurt & honey) Breakfast bap , latte & ginger beer tea. The breakfast was presented lovely. I loved all the small touches with the flowers. The warm cinnamon bun was amazing I would drive from manchester just to eat that cinnamon bun again. Staff friendly & polite. Very quick service. Only one suggestion would be to put the prices on the specials boards so you don't have to ask. This place really is a little gem in conwy, just the presentation of the drinks & food is fabulous. I can't wait to return again. Don't let it put you off either if you don't have a dog with it being a dog friendly cafe as on both visits I only saw a few dogs & was no issuse. Thanks for making our weekend so lovely.

I had a fantastic experience here today! Brilliant service from a young confident girl, very impressed. I had a matcha which was divine, and a gorgeous pistachio croissant. I would recommend everyone to visit this cafe! Thanks Gaz and the crew

Having left a cafe up the road due to poor service, myself and my mum went into this place. We had just planned to have a drink but seeing the menu, we decided to have the food. It was all great, service was prompt, food choices were wide and tasted good. The food came out promptly. Great atmosphere. Seemed busy which was a good sign of a successful cafe. Would definitely return. Toilets are in the nearby Castle Hotel.

Best bit of bacon my wife’s ever had! We were staying in Conwy for a week and found ourselves here for breakfast on multiple occasions. Food- I had the full English and it was terrific, perfect portions, fresh ingredients, nothing greasy and very filling. Great way to start the day! My wife had an “incredibly high quality smoothy” and it is clear they use really fresh produce and take the product seriously. They are super dog friendly! The only negatives- It can be hard to get a seat and when you are in it can feel cramped, this is clearly because of how great the place is and so many people want in on it!

This wasn't our 1st choice for breakfast, but if we'd known how good it was... it absolutely would've been. Staff were welcoming and attentive and the breakfast was superb... easily the best we'd had all week. If we find ourselves in this neck of the woods again, another visit is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!!!

What a beautiful dog friendly cafe. On arrival we were seated. We looked at the menu and decided to have vanilla late and breakfast. Excellent coffee and the breakfast was delicious. It was beautifully cooked. They used local produce too The staff were attentive and polite. We would definitely recommend.

Stopped in Conwy en route to Liverpool from Nefyn. As per reviews service and food was great - better than we expected and happy with the price. It was busy with people coming and going but we managed to squeeze in the front window with a dog, 1yo, 4yo and two adults and we really enjoyed it and would go back. Note that Toilets are located two doors down in the castle hotel. Location is ideal with Parking on the street, plenty of shops and the bay one end. Friendly Quick Accommodating

Spent Sunday lunch here, was busy but greeted by helpful and friendly staff. Service very prompt. Small menu but all 4 of us could find something to select on the menu, including a 13 year old girl and 15 year old boy. Food was served quickly and generous portions. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Also picked up a dog snack. Well priced for the quality of the food- we'd certainly return whenever in conwy again- thank you.
